Alex Brinkmeier

Alex Brinkmeier is a top-rated family law attorney, and is dedicated to helping walk her clients through the complex issues that can arise in family law cases.

After earning her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, Alex attended the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Chicago-Kent College of Law and earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2016. During law school, Alex was president of the Kent Justice Foundation, the law school’s student organization dedicated to nonprofit legal work.

Alex also served on the board of the Child & Family Law Society and the Student Bar Association. She went on to become a certified Mediator, participating in an extensive training program through Chicago’s Center for Conflict Resolution.

Alex was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November 2016 and has focused mainly on the practice of family law. She has had the honor of being named a SuperLawyer Rising Star from 2019 through the present and is currently a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association.

Alex handles a wide variety of Illinois family law cases, including those involving divorce, child custody and visitation, domestic violence and orders of protection, child support, post-decree modifications, relocation or removal of a child, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. She also handles issues such as property division, maintenance and alimony, mediation, orders of protection, and collaborative law.
